The Mayor of Mousedom
While out in the garden I came upon this very frustrated fellow. It appears that he is the Mayor of Mousedom and has made up a "Mouse Rule Book" but he can't find his constituents.
"Wherever did they go?" he cried. Whereupon I broke the news to him that they all seemed to have moved inside. He was quite upset as the very first rule says: Do not move inside.
Looking at the "Mouse Rule Book" I couldn't make out one word. "What language is this?" I asked. "Well, certainly not yours. Now send my people back outside right now". Boy was he officious! I can see why they didn't come to his meeting!
"Rule A: Don't. Rule A1: Rule A doesn't exist. Rule A2: Do not discuss the existence or non-existence of Rules A, A1 or A2." - R. D. Laing

Well of course that rule book would be in secret Mouse Code!! Rule 1 may say "Don't MOVE inside", those mouses are pretty smart. They read their Constitution to the letter. It says NOTHING about VISITING inside, and it doesn't state how LONG the VISIT can last!! Poor little Mayor. He is experiencing that same old issue that many question today. What did the Founding Mousedom Fathers REALLY mean when they wrote their Constitution.
ReplyDeleteI think you are going to see those mouses for a while longer.
xx, Carol
Lol, Carol! How appropriate is this misunderstanding at this time?! I love the little glasses! So glad to see you here Penny.
ReplyDeleteThe glasses do give a clue to an officious nature. Bit bossy, isn't he?
ReplyDeletePoor fellow! You might have to persuade him to throw out the rule book if he wants to see his constituents again!
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I suppose the glasses help him read the strange language. I hope he soon finds his fellow mice.
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be a strong streak of bossiness in all your mice - no wonder they don't obey the mayor! I'm starting to think my daughters would feel right at home among them...
ReplyDeleteThe mice around our house need that rule book! Or else they don't care-they move inside a few at a time (horrors of what their end is!!!). I do not care for them inside! But I would welcome your mouse any day!
ReplyDeletePS I get the photos of birds because my studio windows look out upon the watering hole. Most of the time I can get pictures without being seen by the birds.
I hope he soon finds his fellow mice Sakura Beauty
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by Nhi Yen.
DeleteSo cute, even if he is the mayor.
