This hill that we live on was once covered by large rocks. Some even had to be demolished in order to build houses. There is one section of our yard where the rocks have pretty much been left undisturbed.
We decided to reveal them as they had become hidden within the rampant wild green growth of this area.

I know this is a serious post for you, Penny, and as always, I appreciate and thank you for insights into things I often take for GRANITE. ;)
ReplyDeleteOMGosh, are we sisters from different mothers or what!! I have posted about my love of rocks many times on my blog. I can't stand to see them disappear into the ground over time. I find beauty in every rock I see. My kids know they are great gifts to me and bring me a rock or stone from wherever they travel. Maybe your last paragraph is the reason I love them too. I never really thought about why they are so special to me.

ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely. reminds me of the rock layers in Pennsylvania-even though I usually imagine rattlesnakes under those rocks.....sorry! :)
ReplyDeletePS I live in NY State, and have heard we have rattlers here too...
Lovely - especially as we live on a reclaimed marsh!
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous balance of rocks and vegetation.
