I have so much joy to be thankful for. Rising above myself and the 'every day 'stuff' I hope to soar. Perhaps I can hitch a ride on a kite?
I want to seek joy wherever it might be found, but especially in 'the small stuff'. I want to accept each moment and all of my own foibles with joy and a smile.
"Sometimes your joy is the source of your smile, but sometimes your smile is the source of your joy." - Thich Nhat Hanh
It must be Monday, Penny's latest thoughtful creation is being shared, and loved by all. I see a face, Penny, a happy and peaceful one soaring at the top of your kite. How big is this piece? I love your quote from Thich Nhat Hanh. I embrace the peaceful philosophy, one I have witnessed in my own Buddhist priest son.
ReplyDeleteLove your art Penny!
ReplyDeletePerfect quote. Your thought this day, which is my "focus" for the year has become second nature to me. I have meditated on it and cannot decide if it is easier for it to become part of me because I have less stressful "events" as I grow older. When I was young, I found the Serenity Prayer and have used it as a guide ever since. BUT, I don't think I really understood it until this late age. My smile is with me more often now, if not in my face, in my heart.

Have a wonderful day, friend.
I think sometimes that many of the things we are taught keep joy at arms length. We are taught to compare ourselves to others with more, which will evaporate joy even in the most fertile conditions. To be grateful for what we have is to let joy in.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful kite, it radiates peace.
Love the - button, is it? - it makes a perfect finishing touch!
ReplyDeleteAmazing how a smile can influence your mood! And the mood of those who receive the smile. :)
