As we ease into Spring I realize that its my desire to soar, to fly, to swoop and then go up and up. I'm finding I can certainly dream of soaring and make dreams come true by spending my days creating kites.
Colorful, lighthearted, whimsical kites to take me, in my mind, high up in the sky and off to magical lands.
"Throw your dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it will bring back, a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country." - Anais Nin
So adorable, Penny, and it reminds me of dreams I had often when younger. I was able to fly up and over buildings and trees, so easily that when I woke up I felt certain I could actually do that. Of course, it was just a dream, but so real! I guess it was all about soaring in life. Now that I'm content with the soaring I've done, I don't dream that anymore. But your kite reminder is sweet.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in high school, we used to take kites to a spot on Lake Michigan called Mount Baldy. Most of my best childhood days were spent at the lake. My grandkids used to fly kites too. Much more elaborate ones than this one, but that's what that generation is all about...bigger is better, lol.
ReplyDeleteI never would have guessed you were making a kite. It's pretty cool. Better watch out or one of your cast of characters will be flying high!!
xx, Carol
What a lovely thought!
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice idea! I hope you make more kites :-)
ReplyDelete:) I'm hearing Dick Van Dyke singing, "Let's go fly a kite and send it soaring/ Up through the atmosphere...." I like the quote by Anais Nin, too. Have fun with your kites and your dreams, Penny!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I also hope you make more. A kite is a perfect symbol of spring!
ReplyDeleteI'm hearing Dick Van Dyke too! I love kites. :o)
