Our front door entry area sports a number of gee-gaws that we like to look at. One morning I noticed an addition to the collection.
Upon asking her what she was doing up there she told me that she wanted to be the 'entry sentry' and that this seemed like a perfect place in which to practice her vocation.
I had to break it to her that most of the coming and going is at the back door. She didn't seem deterred. "If you don't have much traffic here that's all the more reason you need me. Some undetected person of malfeasance might sneak in".
"The thinkers of the world should by rights be guardians of the world's mirth." - Agnes Repplier
Well you never know who else might sneak in do you?
ReplyDeleteI suspect that an "entry Sentry" is a good idea in this day and age. She definitely found the perfect perch. Perhaps you should have auditioned her as to how loud her alarm is to check to see if it can be heard at the back of the house. I think she is quite inventive!

On the other hand, she has such a good vantage point...!
ReplyDeleteAn Entry Sentry--I think everyone should have one! Unlikely they would be much help in an emergency, but a good way to create a pause for anyone entering your home. :)
ReplyDeletePure delight, per usual ;>]]
ReplyDeletep.s. those little short ones always think they're soooooo tough ...
I think she's just waiting for the wine cork to pop!

Trying again, I love the "entry sentry" moniker, your way with words shines again! I also love her little bonnet. This one looks like the smallest yet, so adorable.
ReplyDeleteI bet she could jump up and give any 'undetected person of malfeasance' (love that phrase!!) a vicious nip on the kneecap!
ReplyDeleteLook out you persons of malfeasance!! it's not the doll in the fight, it's the fight in the doll! ;))))
