Another Pond

[NOTE:  Debra   of "Moonie Bean Folkart is the winner of the first 'Whisper" doll.]

This summer brings yet another small pond to the original pond outside my studio window.  Having a wetlands ecologist in the family is quite nice.

Originally there was one pond where the frogs sat sunning themselves.  Then another smaller pond was added to let water fall into the original pond.

Now there is a third pond installed.  New plantings have been added and the sound of the water moving from one level to another is even more delightful.

This beautiful spot is perfect for practicing the following quotation.

"When was the last time you spent a quiet moment just doing nothing - just sitting and looking at the sea, or watching the wind blowing the tree limbs, or waves rippling on a pond, a flickering candle or children playing in the park?" - Ralph Marston

  1. OMGosh...your husband is wonderful!! I absolutely love your water spot. Ours if very close to our bedroom window. I fall asleep to the sound of water falling from rocks into the pond. Some nights the frogs serenade, but not EVERY night. Wonder where the heck they go. Do you think our pond is a vacation spot? Frogs visit then go back to the river down at the end of the road? Perhaps my pond is really a frog spa. That's a cool thought!! Just as long as the ducks don't decide to visit.

    Have a great weekend.
    xx, Carol

  4. I love your ponds! We have our summer place on the bay water, but a pond with serenading frogs at night would be heaven when we go back to our family home.

  5. Gorgeous - I'd love a water feature but the garden is just too small!
