Winter Trees

Walking up my hill these days is pure pleasure.  Its savoring the season time. Its talking to the trees time.  Its bliss!

This is my time -- when I can see the sky above me and in front of me and around me - without the cover of leaves.  A time when I feel as if the world is mine, all mine into the distance and far away.

I can look at this home far, far up inside the tree.  Was it home to a squirrel family or perhaps even a raccoon?  Or even better, a magical mystical bird in full plumage of bright colors (which he hides by hunching down in his nest). Oh yes, that has got to be 'it'.

Although I was not able to capture it, I recently witnessed the trees dancing.  A breeze had come up and the branches swayed back and forth, sometimes touching each other. It was an awesome sight.  I think perhaps they were saying 'who needs leaves to be beautiful'?

"Totally" Unlikely

Just so you know what I'm putting up with...here is a picture of a decorative birdcage complete with its painted bird and faux bird's eggs.

That was then, this is now.  My birdcage has been taken over by "Totally".  There she sits, perched on the nest apparently waiting for the chirp of new born baby birds.

I explained to her, very gently I might add, that it is totally unlikely that these 'eggs' will ever hatch because they are not REAL!

Obviously, she is taking no heed of my words (a very definite trait of the Unlikely's I might add).  So there she sits.  I do hope that she has a LOT of patience.

Back home...

...in my nest.  No matter how wonderful, fun, exciting travel is -- I always take a deep breath when I'm back in my own little nest.  Where everything is familiar, where my studio always awaits me, where my little daily routines are back in effect.  Its truly nice to be home.
