Birds of a Feather

My two colorful birds have taken flight.  Each of them looking quite perky in their pastel feathers.

In order to get a little variety in textures I worked the background of these punchneedle pieces in reverse punchneedle.  I'm not sure that I like it -- but there you are, I'm never one to go back and redo a whole piece.

I loved working with these colors and the theme was quite light almost as if I were myself, taking flight.

  1. Very pretty color scheme. Love the whimsy birds too. I like the stitch movement in the white background.

  2. They really are charming! I like the texture and play of light in the background - it's a nice contrast to the birds themselves.

  3. Yes, there's an interesting new lightness of texture about these - I wonder what you'll do next?

  4. This color palette is brighter than your usual, and I like it! Most importantly, I'm sure you enjoyed working with it. That shows in the adorable birds. I bet this one made you smile as you worked.
