In between rain showers I rushed outside to capture some of the intrepid flowers that are blooming. These little Balloon plants are such a lovely, deep purple color and so abundant.
My Lavender is trying very hard to bloom -- but I suspect its wondering how it ended up here, instead of a dryer, Mediterranean climate.
The Echincea and Black Eyed Susans are working nicely together with their bright colors.
Oh and don't I love the Butterfly Weed (now how could anyone call this a weed) with its bright orange blooms.
Lastly, but certainly not least, come my Hydrangeas which are still standing tall, blooming beautifully and saying to the rain 'bring it on'!
"I'm singing in the rain
Just singing in the rain
What a beautiful feeling
I'm happy again..."
A green thumb is in residence there! I was impressed with all, but when I got to the last photo, the hydrangea, I was envious. Mine don't bloom! Lots of foliage, but very infrequent flowers. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteLovely blooms....
ReplyDeleteDum da dum dum
dum da
dum da dum dum.....
(Love that tune too :-)))
Lavender is used to being battered by storms alternating with sunshine, so as long as you get some sunshine I'm sure it will flower some time!
ReplyDeleteThey seem to be thriving - nature is pretty adaptable! Could do with some of that rain over here!
ReplyDeleteYou and I share the joy of some of the same flowers. I dug butterfly weed from the field where they built Walmart. People think I'm nuts to transplant weeds...some are so beautiful and Chickory is my VERY favorite, and then the violets!
ReplyDeleteJust started raining here.
