A Springtime of Roses

I want to share with you Mrs. Orr's roses.  Mr. and Mrs. Orr had this house built in 1985.  We took over in 2004.

As my husband completely revamped the yard, making it a thing of beauty (it had been neglected after the Orr's left) I insisted that we keep Mr.s Orr's roses.

And so, each spring the two shades of pink fill their section of the yard and I say a quiet thank you to Mrs. Orr.

"But friendship is the breathing rose, with sweets in every fold." - Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.

  3. Beautiful roses! I've never been one for pink in my clothing, but pink in the garden is my favorite! There is just something about pink roses that makes my heart sing. :)

  4. Years and years ago I had quite a showy rose garden. We revamped the back yard and I gifted them to someone. Now I have three in the front yard that I am going to move to the back where I can enjoy them more. Turning the front garden to maintenance free because I really enjoy being in the back by the pond. Your husband is taking wonderful care of those roses! They are so pretty.

  5. I adore roses, especially the old-fashioned ones with the deep heady scent.
