A Color Filled World
Over the past few weeks I've been absorbed with color.
I have been experimenting with color, using the combinations that I see all around me. I want to thank Pamela Zagarenski the artist of www.SACREDBEE.com. Her cards are delicious tutors when it comes to the lovely colorful, yet soft combinations she uses.
In fact I recently took a bunch of her cards with me to the fabric shop where I used her colors when choosing floss for my next project. What fun!!!
What colors do you find yourself using these days?

These are lovely soft colors, Penny. I can see them working in your specialized palette. I’m on the edge of my seat watching your blog!
ReplyDeleteLovely, indeed! At the moment my palettes are dominated by colours which could be termed "representational" - if you were willing to use the word rather loosely!
ReplyDeleteOh Rachel -- your current project demands certain colors -- just magnificent!
DeleteSomeone's fingers are going to be very busy! The colors are so soft and soothing. :)
ReplyDeleteWith just a touch of red, it would look very southwestern!
ReplyDeleteHmmm - you are so right! Did you collect a few of those colors in your recent travels? *smile*
DeleteI'm surrounded by green, which I've been longing for the past winter-so I just have let my eyes soak it all in. When I get back to painting, I'm thinking oranges and reds together...

ReplyDeleteI just got back from Lowe's where I picked up a bunch of 'new to me' paint chips. Quite different from my soft pallet. We'll see how it goes!
Human ability to see color is a gift. I've never gotten over my amazement that all colors are contained within white light, as evidenced by having it go through a prism which separates the different colors. It's fascinating to think about how different animals see color. Bees for instance see things we don't, like ultraviolet light. Enjoy experimenting with color combinations. Be fearless!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those colors. I am drawn to them and the colors of your blog all the time.

Lovely soft colours. I'm usually a turquoise/blues/greens girl but have just finished something unexpected in soft indigo and brown...
ReplyDeleteBlack and white with a touch of dramatic red had been my colour palette for months. I need forcing out of that rut to refind true colour. Those beautiful skeins of floss might just do the trick!
