Slow and Steady
Here it is, October - one of my favorite months of the year. I am getting 'comfortable' in my new self.
My box lid art is moving ahead -- slowly but steadily -- much like a snail moves. But that's all right, that's just me these days.
I find I like these long, stay-at-home days. Curled up with a good book, I savor small squares of dark chocolate and enjoy cups of hot tea. I mustn't forget the most important thing -- a bit of art inspiration each day.

Oh my, how good this post feels! A “bit of art inspiration” resonates with me, and I must get some small squares of dark chocolate. I love your button bin, and am eager to see more of your work (especially the small box lids connected with an “accordion). The quote is perfect for me especially right now...thank you, Penny!
ReplyDeleteHmmm! Well, since I wrote this - just last week -- I've found a wonderful 'pear' stitchery that I want to try soooo perhaps the triple box lid might have to wait a bit. Hmmm, we'll see!
ReplyDeleteInspiration, small squares of dark chocolate and meditative stitching - sounds perfect!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah -- chocolate, hot tea and a needle and thread in my hand. Can I balance it all? *smile*
DeleteOur days our slipping by. I've been cleaning closets and carting it off to Goodwill. The older I get, the easier it is to give stuff up. I'm glad to see your post. I know what it is like to swiftly shift gears on which project to do. Heck, I walk from one room to another and switch it up!

Oh gosh - I've been doing the same thing. Ms. Neatnik is my new name *smile*. I want everything in its place and tidy. My local Council on Aging shop is getting deluged! *smile*
DeleteTake your time lovely Penny...
ReplyDelete....breathe deep....
...and enjoy your creative time at home...

Thank you so much Chris. I'm honestly getting to this 'mindfulness' thing because I'm allowing myself time. I highly recommend it *smile*.
DeleteSounds like the perfect way to ease into autumn.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! This is one of my favorite times of the year and the cooler weather is quite welcome. Whoops! Do I say that about each and every season, oh probably so. *smile*
DeleteOf course, I'm a big fan of your box lid art--how fun to see the "ingredients" spread out and awaiting your perusal!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are back to blogging now and then-or when ever you feel like it. And glad to read you're letting yourself just be inspired and not worry too much about time. I'm also trying that way-it's so much more pleasant!
ReplyDeleteOne more comment from me, I bought myself some dark chocolate. It’s in my sewing room drawer where only I ever go. :)))))
