"Rusty Toed Flutterby II"





Another Rusty Toed Flutterby has stopped by our yard.  Standing here, looking at one of the ponds - perhaps he wants to take a dip.

Or perhaps he's decided to stay dry, after all, much more rust and he might lose a toe or two.

    No, no. I HEARD about this Flutterby before. I think he might be the one that escaped from that circus sideshow. You know...the one that has all those outrageous curiosities inside. Remember the Two Headed Snake or the Bearded Lady? Well, this Flutterby could just be the Flutterby they had that was billed as the Rusty Footed Ribbon Tailed Flutterby. There are no others known to man. If this one is not THAT one, then it means there are TWO just alike!! You just may have a celebrity staying with you!!

    Wow, I don't know who has the best imagination, Penny, you or Carol! So funny. I really want this one to lend me his rusty toes so I can rust-dye their image onto some muslin. He would only have to stand still for a couple hours. What fun that would be! But being a flutterby, I suspect he'd not be able to stand still for that long. Love him, the wings and buttons -- all so charming! What kind of birdsong do these charmers make?
