This is my 'nesting' time. Like a small sparrow I snuggle into my studio nest. I watch the outside from my warm, cozy inside area. This is a wonderful time for creating -- nothing is calling me outside, time slows and warmth is treasured. On this day the universe is giving me a present of light and warmth to come - and while I wait for it I'll try to live each of these winter days in comfort and joy.
"I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape. Something waits beneath it; the whole story doesn't show". - Andrew Wyeth
Lovely photos. I also like the promise of increasingly longer days. Enjoy your studio time.
ReplyDeleteI love your first photo the most, and thank you for sharing special photos. I knew it was an Andrew Wyeth quote as soon as I read about feeling the "bone structure" of the landscape. He has always inspired me with his incredible paintings, and his words about the bone structure of the earth seeped into my mind decades ago where they have remained. I guess that's one of my favorite reasons for enjoying fall and winter as well. Enjoy your warm time hunkered down while creating!
ReplyDeleteLovely post. :-)
