Pesky Piffles

                                                             "Bibliophile"

I'm back home and so are 'they'.  Yes the Piffles are back home and making total pests of themselves.  Having traveled clear out to California and back again they don't seem to want to settle down in their place on the shelves.

                                                              "Starr"

What am I going to do with them?  One has already started her journey to a new home.
But that leaves three - and believe me the 'left behinds' are really quite upset.

                                                        "Alberta Algorithm"

And so I offer these noisy and not-too-cooperative Piffles as a blog give away.  Please leave a comment below and The winners will be announced on the Tuesday the 21st.

Piffles 'Do' PRIMS

To receive an issue of PRIMS (or any publication) where your work is shown and shared with others is such a privilege.  The whole Stampington line of magazines is dear to my heart.

Long ago I discovered "Somerset Studio" and artist books.  They gave me ideas, instructions and courage to try something totally unknown to me up to that point.

Later "Sew Somerset" came along and I was fortunate to have a few things in that publication - so many years ago.

PRIMS magazine is such a godsend to those of us who work in that genre.  Prior to PRIMS there were very few places one could go to get the information needed to make vintage/aged/fun cloth pieces.

Thank you to the team at Stampington for their encouragement, their professionalism and the gifts they give us with each issue of each magazine.  You make life fun!!

Alberta Algorythm

I was recently quite discombulated by my newest Piffle acquaintance.  You see she is a mathematician and I am most definitely not!  I had to take Algebra twice, once to get a "D" and summer school to bring that all the way up to a "C" (and only because the teacher was kind).

So imagine my amazement at finding such a brilliant Piffle -- living here in the forest, studying numbers.  She did spend quite a bit of time trying to explain to me that the whole world, indeed our universe, is based on math.  Egads I wondered, where does that leave me?

As people who have an expertise in an area are prone to do - Alberta wanted to talk about math all afternoon.  She was sure that she could explain all of the various theories and equations if I would just sit still and listen.  It was nice to meet her, but sadly I came home thinking more about my checkbook balancing than I did about the Pythagorean theorem.
