Hitch Hiking Lady Bug

What have we here - upon a kite - waiting for a strong wind?

Perhaps these little bugs became hitch hikers in order to save their strength.

Perhaps they will land in a brilliant green garden where they can munch their way through these lovely spring afternoons.

"The Ladybug wears no disguises.
She is just what she advertises.
A speckled spectacle of spring,
A miniature fashion on the wing...

A miniature orange kite".
- J. Patrick Lewis

  1. They are lovely. I'm sure they will land somewhere wonderful!

  2. I don't know how, Penny, but now you've outdone yourself with this one! So much thought...a kite masterpiece.

  3. :) This one should appeal to everyone! Love the hitchhikers you included and the lines "A speckled spectacle of spring/A miniature fashion on the wing..."

  4. Adorable. In the part of England I come from, ladybirds are known as bishybarnybees. No idea why but I love the word. They can land in my garden any time!
