Winter Time

Almost to Spring...

Such a strange Winter this has been.  More 'conflicted' days than 'contented' days. Even my body has felt it, as I've dealt with aches and pains more often than I usually have to.

As I write this, the sun is shining and its above freezing outside.  Perhaps I'm getting a glimpse of the Spring to come.  Perhaps my life will be filled with light instead of darkness as we greet the coming months.

I suspect that at this time in history I need to make my own bits and pieces of joy and imagination.   I must live in the moment and make each of those small moments count.
Spring is coming...

"Time, time, time
See what's become of me
While I looked around for my possibilities
I was so hard to please
But look around, leaves are brown
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter..."

  1. I'll take this weather and be happy about it as long as the snow doesn't show up in April and May. And if it does...then I will still be happy that I woke up that day, ready to go. There is one thing for sure...my dogs are enjoying this warm weather and the chance to be outside running around and playing or just laying out under the trunk of what used to be a tree...they don't even know the branches are gone!

  3. It really is coming! I have been hearing a phoebe (quite early for them), and other birds have changed their songs to spring songs already...

  4. Here it is 4 degrees at the moment, it's February in South
Australia and it's cold, it is early morning but even so. I agree about making things happen, off to deliver eggs in Adelaide, 3 hour round trip, but morning tea with a friend.

  5. I woke up this morning with light coming through the curtains and for a moment thought I had massively overslept. It was a moment of joy to find that I hadn't and realise that the days are slowly lengthening.

  6. Spring is here in our area. Trees flowering and leafing out, azaleas blooming, weeds springing up everywhere. It was 82 degrees yesterday. If it were this way all year, I'd love it, but this spring is over a month too soon.

  7. I wanted to comment on your latest post but it won't allow it. I have been loving your recent work and especially like the latest one, the clock workings have a face in them.

  8. With comments apparently blocked on your next post, I too am commenting here. Your recent small pieces are such a pleasure - calm and considered in a world of confusion and instant, ill-thought out responses. Thank you for sharing them.
