Reds and Yellow

Autumn is coming and as a goodbye to summer the yellow and deep red flowers appear.  Do they show up at this time so that we will have their vivid colors to remember as we go into Autumn and Winter?

They don't last long at this time -- but they do attract the birds as well as the eye.

Soon I will be longing for these beauties as well as all the other blooming plants and flowers that I have gotten used to over the spring and summer.  Perhaps the fact that they aren't there for me all year long makes them even more precious.

  3. Yay, a near end to green and water deprived brown! We will enjoy Falls colors this year. We are on a cool getaway to Niagara Falls, on the Canadian side today, and trees are just beginning to change here. :) it's coming!

  5. Cooler air would be fantastic - the last few days here have been almost unbearably hot and humid. it was hotter in Kent the other day than it was in Bangkok!

  6. I have some of that yellow blooming behind my purple Rose of Sharon and it is such a pretty color display. All of my flowering plants are blooming a bit late this year and I can't figure out why unless it is because our summer was so dry. Morning Glories are blooming beautifully in the front yard, but the ones by the pond JUST STARTED to bloom!! I bought the most gloriously HUGE mums for the front deck. They attracted bees so back to the pond they went. I'll put them in the ground back there. They are a beautiful burgundy button mums. They are about 20" wide. The nursery put a net over them for them to grow through that keeps them spread so wide. Cool trick, huh.

    Have a great weekend.
    xx, Carol
