Garden Mouse

I'm so used to seeing mice inside that I nearly tripped over this little one.  He had found a lovely place in the moss.

The sun was out so I'm glad that he'd found a leaf to shelter his head.

Before leaving him to his own devices I tried to encourage him to ask some of the 'herd' that has invaded my house to come outside and join him.  I'm not sure whether that was nod of his head or a slight breeze had come up.

  1. Oh Yup. Okay. You THINK he is from the herd in the house! HE'S from a whole OTHER herd. They are akin to what some people call certain humans that live in the hills. You may have heard the term Hillbilly. This little guy is a Field Mouse. They are the very messiest kind of mouses leaving their crumbs all over the place and never ever cleaning up after themselves. You find them EVERYWHERE. You tripped over him because he was on his way into your house to gnaw a little and carry some treats back out to his clan. I hate to tell you this but you are going to have to employ a Mouse Marshal to keep that clan in line. They can cause quite a ruckus!!
