A Postal Pocket

What better way to end "National Card and Letter Month" than  with a pocket in which to store a few envelopes?

I just love opening the mail box and seeing a letter or card.  Its always a welcome surprise to a day and I set aside everything I'm doing to open this missive and read from beginning to end.

Staying in close touch with those I love, via 'snail' mail is one of my favorite things to do.  Its so intimate -- just the two of us sharing our thoughts and dreams on paper.  I know its a lost pastime these days but here's a special thank you to those who share this love of letters.

"And none will hear the postman's knock
Without a quickening of the heart.
For who can bear to feel himself forgotten?"
W. H. Auden

  1. Oh, you are so right. In today's technological world getting snail mail is special. I have to admit that I utilize email much more than the post office. It is so much easier to type and retype then zip it off.

Love the mail on the front of your pouch.
    xx, Carol

  2. Unfortunately the cost of postage is such here in Oz that we seem to get very few letters any more. Like that pocket.

  4. It almost feels old fashioned to see a hand written letter or note. I miss them! This is not only pretty, Penny, but a peaceful comment on out times and whether progress is better.
