The Unlikely's

One night, not long ago, I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep.  Thoughts were rambling through my brain as if it were a freeway.  The phrase "its very unlikely that I'd be able to..." popped up.  I have no idea how that sentence was finished because I got sidetracked thinking about the word "unlikely".

What a strange word it is.  While it doesn't actually say it won't happen it gives sort of a feeling that it isn't going to happen.  Was I thinking perhaps I'd take up ballet when the unlikelies popped up -- or was it something mundane such as cleaning the stove?  Either way, this word presents a challenge.  Do I yield to the unlikelies and forget about the stove for another day (very tempting) or do I challenge the unlikelies and prove that I certainly could be a ballerina if I wanted.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see how this all plays out but one thing I can say, I'll be exploring this word more and there's no doubt about that...

  1. Challenge the unlikelies... That's an interesting way to look at it. It's another way to say "what if...", and "why not...", a way to explore possibilities that seemed, well, unlikely. A way to look at the world with artist's eyes. Lovely.

  2. Goodness, there's scope for investigation, isn't there!

  3. I never ever think of the word "unlikely". I don't think "I'll Never" because one time I thought it and I did what I thought I would never do. Not saying I'll Never is kind of superstitious to me to NEVER say it.

I would hate to think "it's unlikely" for something I REALLY want to do because I believe in the power of Positive Attraction.

As far as the stove goes...well spray a little Awesome on and easily wipe away the grease. Magic Eraser sponges make short work of the fridge. It's unlikely that I will think it's unlikely that I will clean the stove.

What else ya got for me....lol
Have a great day friend. Always fun to visit you in the AM.

  4. I guess I don't think of those unlikelies either. There seems to be an innate awareness in me that knows what they are, and I give myself a break by not thinking about them. More likely thoughts are those I know I can achieve and I go forward with them instead. After all, we can't do everything! ;)

  5. PS...That said, I really like the name "Unlikelies" for a new group of residents on your doll shelves! :)

  6. Oh, I do struggle with this dilemma. If I'm having fun in the studio, it is unlikely that I'll clean the stove, shop for groceries, or do anything in the manner of mundane chores. Until...I absolutely have to. Then I have guilt over what I could be doing creatively. Cycles, again. Luckily, I have a patient husband.

  7. I smile, because I know that 'unlikely' simply means 'not impossible'!! :))))
